The first dance competition in Romania, dedicated exclusively to Bollywood and oriental dance.
The contest is organized within the Bollyental Dance Fest.

It includes categories for children, teenagers and adults.

ConteThe Bollyental Dance st, organized by IndraDance Academy, aims to develop and promote the quality of Bollywood and Oriental dance, as well as the competitive level, on a national and international level.
The competition will take place within the Bollyental Dance Fest, on Sunday October 5th, 2024 (7:00 p.m.), at the Old School, Calea Plevnei street, no. 61, Music Hall, Bucharest. The space has a stage of 3x6 m and a space in front of the stage of 5x8 m. (3 and 5 represent depth of space).
The winners will be awarded with diplomas, medals, trophies and prizes provided by the organizer.

Bollywood dance has its origins in traditional Indian dance, it is a potpourri of many different dance styles including Indian classical, folk, tribal, Latin, hip hop, street dance and more.
t's important to use Lip Sync (miming the lyrics) and facial expression to translate some lyrics into movement. We also recommend creating choreography based on a story. Conveying a story is the basis of Bollywood dance.

This section will focus on: technique, grace, speed, attitude, spatial awareness, energy, lip sync, facial expression and emotion, either individually, towards a partner or within a group, as well as synchronously, in the case of groups.

THE MOVEMENTS: We expect to see a lot of Indian dance influence, including hand gestures (mudras), postures, side movements of the head, classical arm movements, footwork, etc., even within very modern pieces.

COSTUME: This can be from classical Indian (with or without ghunghroos/ankle bells) to modern and even a mix, as long as it is in keeping with the dance style, the chosen piece and respects the age of the contestant. (Example: A bhangra costume will not be worn in a Rajasthani choreography.) Wearing tights under skirts is mandatory, they can be pants up to mid-thigh, the important thing is that they cover the private parts. Be careful not to wear too much specific jewelry, not to hinder your ability to move!

FACIAL EXPRESSION: This is a very important part of Bollywood, so all parts of the face should be highlighted. The eyes in particular play an important role. In this section we expect to see Lip Sync as well as many different emotions in accordance with the chosen track.

PROPS: They are allowed, as long as they do not endanger the physical integrity of any competitor. Any pyrotechnic material is prohibited.

The origins of oriental dance are rooted in ancient oriental cultures. Originally from Africa (Egypt-the "mother" country), as well as from the Middle East (Arabia), it currently enjoys influences from the West such as Europe and North America. Oriental dance unshackles femininity, sensuality and female voluptuousness, heals female energy and is in harmony with all 7 chakras.

The oriental dance section will focus on: technique, grace, femininity, sensuality (especially the 18+ categories), emotion, facial expression, and within the groups: coordination and synchronicity in addition to all those listed above.

THE MOVEMENTS: We expect to see technique, posture, attitude, femininity, grace, emotion and liveness. No vulgar moves or moves unrelated to this style of dance are allowed. If the choreography is a fusion between several styles, all the elements of those styles must be respected.

COSTUME: The costume must be consistent with the style of dance, the chosen piece and respect the age of the contestant. (Example: A saidi costume will not be worn in a bellydance choreography.)
The costume must be decent and cover private parts.

EXPRESSION AND ATTITUDE: Very important elements in this dance style are the way you enter and exit the stage, the correct body position, emphasis is also placed on hand movements, an important part of the dance! The hair is also an important part and must be left free, it is only caught if there are folkloric dances, in bellydance its catch is de-pointed!

PROPS: They are allowed, as long as they do not endanger the physical integrity of any competitor. Any pyrotechnic material is prohibited.
